Trainer Tip by: Leah Sanders
Did you know that Vitamin D is essential for staying healthy and fighting infection? Vitamin D is also known as the “sunshine vitamin.” How do we get enough Vitamin D in the winter when we may not be able to enjoy the sun like we do during the summer months?
Some ways you can do this are:
* Get outside! Even when it’s cold out, 15-30 minutes a day 3 times a week can help you get some Vit D!
* Vitamin D-rich foods: Pork – Mushrooms – Fatty fish (such as Tuna) – cheese & egg yolks are all high Vit D foods.
* Taking a Vitamin D supplement. Always check with your physician before taking supplements to assess your dosage recommendations.
