From the Wellness Team: Wellness Wednesday Trainer Tip – SMART Goals

Are Your Goals Smart Goals?

Smart goals are goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. It is important when setting your health and wellness goals that each of these components are met with each goal you set.

Goal – “I want to do a pull up.”

SMART Goal – “I want to do 5 pull ups by the end of the summer by strength training 4x/week and while being mindful of my eating habits.”

Setting SMART goals allows you to set yourself up for success. Not only do you plan your end goal, but you brainstorm and plan how you will achieve the goal. Setting a SMART goal is extremely important so that you stick with your goal, and you can track your progress towards your goal.
